St Jude's CoE Primary

Mrs Casey Penn - Deputy Headteacher

What is your educational background?

I studied for a Bachelor in Education at Griffith University, Australia and graduated in 2004. After moving to the UK I enjoyed supply teaching before completing an assessment based route to gain Qualified Teacher Status.

What skills and talents do you bring to St Jude's

I am great at being organised and am known for my tidiness. I am a skilled people person and can deal with any tough situation. Forming positive relationships with children and showing them they are respected is always a high priority and a big part of my success as a teacher.

When you’re not at school what do you enjoy doing?

I am the most interested in a good gig or festival with my friends, eating out, good wine, my husband and of course travelling!

What is your educational background?

I attended the University of South Australia where a completed a degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Psychology. After making the move to London and embarking on my teaching career seven years ago I then completed the QTS qualification through South Bank University.

What skills and talents do you bring to Peter Hills?

My life before teaching was surrounded by all things fitness. I have experience working as a coach and personal trainer and love nothing better than leaving the office occasionally and dusting off the trainers to teach PE.

When you’re not at school what do you enjoy doing?

Although my thrill seeking days are over I still have a passion for riding motorbikes and adventure. When the weather doesn’t permit my adventurous side I am a budding DIY enthusiast (although my projects usually result in more problems that I started with).
