St Jude's Church of England Primary School

School Uniform

At St. Jude's, we have a gender neutral policy on uniform. We take pride in our appearance and appreciate your help in respect of following the uniform policy; we feel it's important that no child feels uncomfortable because they stand out through wearing non-standard uniform. We also understand there may be extenuating circumstances that mean your child is not wearing the specified uniform and we ask that that speak to the class teacher or office about this. We are planning on changing the current uniform to a more active wear one, which will avoid the need to have a separate PE kit. We have reduced the need for some branded items, in line with government policy. School shoes, the most expensive part of the present school uniform, will be changed in favour of trainers.

The school is negotiating with a number of suppliers to get the best deal. We anticipate the new kit will be with us from March 2023. In the interim, children can continue to wear their current uniform.

Children will be expected to have a school bag and a water bottle with them EVERY day. It is important that they have this for any important documents, home learning and reading diaries. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to our high expectations.
PLEASE NOTE:
Jewellery may not be worn apart from small flat studs for pierced ears
Make up including nail varnish should not be worn
Body art of any kind, including henna and stick on tattoos are not permitted

Often during the school day and week, the children will be involved in a lesson where they may get messy. We endeavour to make sure your children are appropriately protected, but sometimes the children will get paint or other non-harmful substances on their clothes
