“The power of education extends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success. It can contribute to nation-building and reconciliation.”
Education excites me, but what excites me most is the opportunity education provides us for change. Change to a society divided, change to outdated attitudes, and most importantly, lasting and positive change to a child's life. At St Jude's we recognise that there is no greater power than education and no responsibility more important than working with our young people.
We pride ourselves on knowing each individual child and our curriculum is tailored to meet their needs, recognising that primary education is about so much more than Maths and English. With this in mind we strive to deliver experiences that promote the development of the whole child, experiences that build character, develop resilience and a strong sense of self. We aim to equip children with the skills and qualities needed to break down the barriers that hold them back.
At St Jude's, we demand high standards and we have a culture of 'no excuses'. This is reflected in the behaviour of our children and quality of their learning. The school has a rich and successful history which we are proud of, however, we also recognise the need to focus on the future. Innovation and creative thinking are at the heart of everything we do.
If children are to be successful and fulfil their God given potential strong partnerships between home and school are vital. We value our parents and wider community and work hard to involve them in all aspects of their children’s education. Christian ethos is important to us. We want our children to leave St Jude's not only with the capacity to be the leaders of tomorrow but as kind, compassionate young people ready to take on the challenges of an ever changing world .
We warmly welcome visitors to our school and look forward to sharing all the school has to offer.
